2004 Updates

12/31, 10:00 AM:
Now that it's a month and a half too late and all, I decided to get in one more update this year. So here's the Cross Country Regionals results. I do plan on having all of this coming track season's updates up at a reasonably fast pace after meets, never fear. Not much else to do or say around here until then, though.

10/30, 3:00 PM:
Cross Country results for the Big 12 Championships are added; the men get tenth behind Haron Lagat in 12th, women are sixth.

10/16, 3:15 PM:
Pre Nationals results are in; women are 21st in the Blue race, men are 33rd in the White race.

10/2, 4:00 PM:
Cross Country continues with the Cowboy Jamboree; the women repeat as champions while the men grab 8th, led by Haron Lagat's 3rd place individual finish.

9/25, 3:00 PM:
Roy Griak results are in; women jump up to 8th from 16th last year, men are 19th.

9/13, 11:45 AM:
This is late, sure, but then I had to work all day Saturday, and I nearly got killed by a can of Coke, and I spent all day yesterday recovering from Saturday, and... yeah.

Anyway, Cross Country has begun with the Lobo Invitational. Women win, men are fifth.

8/31, 6:45 AM:
I had a busy weekend, and wasn't too motivated to post this on top of that, but anyway... Jonathan Johnson's semifinal performance in Athens is here.

And so, the 2004 Outdoor season which was groundbreaking in many ways finally ends. But don't blink, because 2004 Cross Country starts only a week from Saturday at the Lobo Invitational. Check here for results, or I'll REALLY cause some trouble!

8/25, 8:15 PM:
Jonathan Johnson becomes the only American to make the men's 800 meter semifinals at the Athens Olympics. The semis are tomorrow, final is Saturday.

8/8, 7:00 PM:
Jonathan Johnson's performance at the Weltklasse Zurich Golden League meet is added to the Outdoor 2004 results page.

7/12, 10:45 PM:
Were you shouting from the rooftop after NCAAs? Well then, you'd better find yourself a good-sized office building for this: Jonathan Johnson wins the Olympic Trials, and will represent the United States in the Athens Olympics. Naturally, the results page also reflects this, including his new PR and school record.

6/29, 6:45 AM:
Even more summer fun! It seems Jonathan Johnson went out to California to run a tuneup 800 on Sunday, and came away with an Olympic "A" qualifying (and school record) time of 1:45.76. So of course, I've added it to Outdoor 2004.

6/27, 8:45 PM:
The remaining Junior Nationals results are up; Bryan Scott takes third in the 400 hurdles, and Shawon Harris takes fourth in both the 110 and 400 hurdles.

6/25, 8:15 PM:
Nope, the season's not quite over yet. In addition to the people competing at the Olympic Trials next month, Bryan Scott and Shawon Harris are representing Tech at the USA Junior Championships. As you can see, they both advanced to tomorrow's final in the 400 hurdles. Shawon will also compete in the 110 hurdles on Sunday.

6/12, 10:30 PM:
Shout it from the rooftops: Jonathan Johnson is Texas Tech's first ever men's National Champion, winning the 800 by .4 seconds. Sage Thames, Bobby Most and the women's 4x400 also grab All-America honors. Check out the details on the results page.

6/11, 10:15 PM:
Friday results are up for NCAAs; Tyree Gailes and Jason Young are All-Americans.

6/11, 12:15 PM:
Thursday results for the NCAA Championships are added to Outdoor 2004. School records in the mens' 100 meters and womens' 4x400, and this is just the prelims!

6/8, 6:30 AM:
Midwest Regional results are finally up, just in time for Nationals.

5/15, 2:15 PM:
Results from Thursday's ACU Open are added to 2004 Outdoor Track.

5/12, 10:00 PM:
Notice anything different about the navigation buttons on the left? That's right, there's a new section for news articles. At the moment, only the articles I have for outdoor track up to 1970 are available, but there's plenty more where that came from. As for more recent articles, like I say in the Contributions section, I'm wanting to get an official okay from the original publishers (the Tech Athletic Department, the A-J, etc.) before posting anything that might get them angry otherwise. For now, enjoy this little slice of the '60s.

5/2, 11:00 AM:
And the Day 3 results finish up the Big 12 Championship; both the men (2nd) and the women (5th) get their best Big 12 finish ever.

5/1, 12:15 PM:
Well, as it turned out, other stuff cropped up for me to take care of last night. Anyway, here are the Day 2 results.

4/30, 7:00 PM:
Day 1 results from the Big 12 Championship are up; Day 2 results will go up ASAP after they're posted.

4/26, 7:00 PM:
Results from the Mean Green Twilight Invitational at North Texas last Thursday are added to 2004 Outdoor Track.

4/22, 8:30 AM:
Finally caught back up... ASU Relays, Mt. SAC Relays and Michael Johnson Classic results are available.

4/3, 7:00 PM:
Complete Texas Relays results are up; highlights include school records in the womens' steeplechase, pole vault and 4x400 relay.

3/28, 10:30 PM:
The 2004 outdoor season begins, with results for last week's Texas Tech Invitational and yesterday's UTEP Springtime Invitational going up.

3/14, 9:30 AM:
Indoor NCAA results are up; the women's 4x400 runs under 3:35 again to earn All-America honors.

3/12, 6:15 AM:
For all Lubbock-area readers: I've been informed by former Red Raider runner Jesse Williams that the second annual Courtney Nolen Memorial 5k will be held on the Tech campus Saturday, April 3. You can check out this site for details on the race and the Courtney Kimbrell Nolen Scholarship Fund.

3/6, 9:00 PM:
ISU Last Chance Meet results are up; the women's 4x400 destroys the previous indoor school record and automatically qualifies for NCAAs.

2/28, 9:30 PM:
Big 12 Championship results are up. Men get fifth place, women are eleventh.

2/14, 3:40 PM:
Results for last week's Red Raider Invitational and yesterday's Razorback Invitational are up. Jonathan Johnson's 800 meter effort at the Golden Spike meet will go up after I see the ESPN broadcast.

2/11, 7:00 PM:
And the Olympic Trials pictures are now up as promised. Last week's home meet results will go up soon.

2/5, 7:00 PM:
Just a heads up for anyone that might be looking for this weekend's meet results: they'll be delayed until at least the middle of next week, as I'll be in Birmingham Saturday and Sunday to watch the men's Olympic Trials marathon and then run in the open marathon the next day. And hopefully the first thing I'll be putting up upon my return will be pictures of said Olympic Trials. So stay tuned for that.

2/1, 12:30 PM:
Red Raider Classic results are up.

1/27, 12:10 PM:
Results for last weekend's Red Raider All-Comers and Texas Tech Quad meets are up.

1/17, 2:40 PM:
About four days late due to other priorities (mainly work and sleep), the Pole Vault Summit Results are up to kick off the Indoor 2004 season.
