2003 Updates

11/15, 7:15 PM:
Cross Country results for the Mountain Region Championship are now up. Also on the pace chart you'll notice the yearly improvement charts are now completed; Dwayne Benoit and Brionne Yosten win the Most Improved From Last Year Awards.

10/31, 2:30 PM:
Big 12 Cross Country Championship results are now up. Women get fourth (their highest finish ever) and the men are tenth.

10/18, 10:00 PM:
Cross Country results for the Chili Pepper Invitational are up.

10/4, 3:00 PM:
The Tech women won the Cowboy Jamboree yesterday, and had the best top-5 average pace for a 6K ever. The men improve as well.

10/1, 7:15 PM:
Today marks the fifth anniversary of this site's founding. So I decided to write up a quick progress assessment of the major site areas, and put it on the Message Board. Enjoy. Now I'm off to celebrate and stuff.

9/27, 2:45 PM:
Roy Griak Invitational Cross Country results are now up.

9/27, 10:00 AM:
I was looking for something to pass the time this morning before the Roy Griak results came in, and suddenly remembered that I had a list of letter winners from 1925 (the first year of the men's team) to 1966 that I'd never done anything with. So, I went ahead and made a table out of it. If I ever manage to find concrete data on the years after '66, I'll fill the rest of this in.

9/13, 2:30 PM:
Cross Country results for the New Mexico Invitational are now up. Women get second place, men are sixth.

9/6, 7:45 PM:
Cross Country season has now begun, with UTA Invitational results and paces going up.

8/27, 6:15 PM:
Some of you may remember that a while back, the free message board I'd been using abruptly disappeared since the company went bankrupt or something. Well, I've finally found a viable free alternative that's not a phpBB board (I tried uploading one of those, but the server couldn't handle it). So, click here for the brand new Unofficial TTU Track and Field Message Board. It's also got its own button, as you might notice.

8/15, 7:00 PM:
With cross country beginning in just over three weeks, I've decided to give the site's color scheme an overhaul. The changes should be pretty clear, if you've poked around here in the past. Right now, the "index" pages (this one, biographies, pictures and results) are affected, as are the results pages linked from them. The buttons, by the way, are courtesy of Acme Label Maker. Over time, I'll revamp all of the results pages, as well as the biography pages. Picture pages, I really don't know what to do with (and who looks at the background on those, anyway?) Not to mention the mission statement and links pages... maybe I'll just keep them as they are for nostalgia purposes. We'll see. For now, prepare yourselves for cross country madness, starting September 6th.

6/23, 10:00 PM:
After thinking about it for a while, I decided that I should consider the USA Outdoor Championship results from last weekend as part of the outdoor season. So, they're added to 2003 Outdoor Track.

Note: As a result of this, I've also added a few old performances from Leigh Daniel. See if you can spot them.

6/19, 6:30 PM:
As I mentioned, I've written out some ways that you the viewer can contribute to the growth of this site. So, here they are. Now get cracking!

6/15, 2:15 PM:
The remaining results from the NCAA Championships are added to 2003 Outdoor Track. The top ten lists and All-American pages are updated, as well.

And so ends the outdoor season. But don't worry, I don't plan on just letting the site stagnate until cross country. In fact, sometime soon I'll be detailing exactly how you, the loyal viewer, can help to make the site bigger and better. So stay tuned.

6/13, 7:15 AM:
2003 Outdoor Track is updated, with the first two days' results from the NCAA Championships. I'm going to delay updating the top ten lists and such until the whole meet is over, so that I only have to do it once.

4/30, 8:45 PM:
Another one for the "miscellaneous" file: I've compiled the year-by-year team results at conference meets, for both Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. The percentage of total points fields are my way of providing a way of directly comparing results between years; after all, scoring 40 points at a meet with 165 total points available is a lot different from scoring 40 points at a meet with 800+ total points available. Hopefully it's easy enough to understand. At some point, I'll make similar lists for national meets, but probably not for a little while.

4/26, 8:00 PM:
Saturday results from the Drake Relays are added to 2003 Outdoor Track.

3/23, 9:15 PM:
Partial (at least) results for the UTSA Relays are now up for 2003 Outdoor Track. If UTSA actually posts full results at some point, I'll see if more people competed.

3/19, 6:00 PM:
Just for the heck of it, I decided to make lists of Tech's Indoor Track and Outdoor Track All-Americans. So, there you go.

3/1, 9:00 AM:
Notice something different? Yep, the ad banners are gone. I finally upgraded my Tripod account, so I get that plus a ton more web space and bandwidth. The upshot for you loyal viewers is that all of the pictures are back up. Plus, once it gets activated, the site will have its very own domain name. Details will come when it's ready. In the meantime, I'm ready to start posting conference results whenever they come in. Stay tuned.

Update: Wow, that was fast. The domain is set up and ready to use. The new site address is www.texastechtrack.info. Update your links and bookmarks, and all that good stuff.
